Chapter 7 ~ Gavin

I loved being home with my family. I spent a lot of time with Ethan, playing and such. I never knew it was possible to miss someone as much as I missed my wife and son. The favorite part of my day was waking up with Ethan and having one on one time with him.

Ethan is such a happy little guy no matter what he is doing. I think his favorite time of the day is when he eats.   He just looks so content when he is in his highchair putting his fingers in his food.

When Ethan plays with his blocks he looks so excited and just smiles and giggles all the while. Teaching him to use the potty has been very easy as well. Our little guy is just so eager to learn anything and soaks it all up like a little sponge.

I have made a start on teaching Ethan all of his basic skills that he will need to know grow up successfully. It would seem though that everyone around the house, myself included, has not been feeling very well. Loretta swears that her skin color is changing and getting darker, Ethan has been fussy lately and his hair is changing and getting thinner. I have noticed that my own hair is thinning out and am beginning to wonder if it has anything to do with what I was working on for the military.

To help Ethan with his fussiness, we bought him a swing. It seems to calm him down a lot and he often naps in it. As for Loretta and I, there is really nothing we can do. I think a trip in to the office is in order to find out what is going on.

Well it is official, I will never work on a top secret assignment again. It turns out that the military would not talk to me about what was going and basically acted like they had no clue who I was. Luckily I have a close friend on the inside that meet up with me and gave me the scoop on what was going on.

It turns out the virus I was working on was for chemical warfare and some of it was accidentally released into the air. My family was not the only one reporting these feelings and it was turning in to an epidemic. Thankfully there was a cure for the virus and he had slipped out three doses for me. He was not supposed to tell me any of this as I mentioned before and he said that it would be a good idea to take my family and leave. I really didn't want to stick around and watch the people I grew up with die along with my family.

I went home and immediately gave us all the treatment. I then told Loretta to pack a bag and get in the car because we were moving as far away as we could. I looked up a small town in the mountains called Appaloosa and got the directions then headed for the car and never looked back.

I bought us a huge house with a security gate that no one could come through unless they buzzed us. We all stayed in doors for a long time due to the way we all looked. During the drive to Appaloosa the virus took full effect before the cure kicked in and the aftermath was not a pretty sight. Ethan lost all his hair and I lost most of mine but Loretta got the worst of it and her skin turned black.

For Loretta and I it didn't take too long for the effects to reverse itself but Ethan's hair was not coming back so fast. Since he was only bald we decided it would be safe to go out in public and check out our new home. So Loretta put Ethan in the stroller and went walking around town while I headed to the local science facility to get a job.

The fishing spots in this town are amazing and everything is so beautiful. I think we are all really going to like living here. Oh and the wildlife seems to be everywhere you turn. Although most of them are terrified of people and turn to run away as soon as they see you.

Patches has been such a trooper though this whole thing so we decided to get her a companion. We figured it would be good for her to have another cat to play with so we called the pet shelter and adopted another female cat named Nona.

Nona and Patches checked each other out at first unsure of the other and then it was like they were instant friends. They started pouncing and playing with each other and at one point it looked like they were hugging. It really was one of the cutest things I have every seen.

Ethan's birthday was coming up soon and I really wanted him to age up well so I gave it another go on teaching him how to talk. It was the last thing he needed to learn and it seemed that he was not going to figure it out in time. But I was not going to give up on it until the last possible minute.

I was unable to teach Ethan all the fundamentals of talking before his birthday arrived but I don't think it will really make a difference. School will catch him up on everything else he needs to know and on the bright side he seems to have a good sense of humor about the whole thing. His hair has finally grown back and he now looks like a normal little boy.

Ethan never really paid much attention to Patches when he was little but now that he is older he loves to shower Patches with attention. He is always petting her and feeding her and from the looks of it she is very much attached to him. I wonder if he will grow up to be a cat lover like his mother.

*Due to a cc malfunction in my game I had to remove it all and it seriously messed up my towns. Not wanting to deal with going through the whole town and fixing everyone I just moved them to a new one and repopulated the town with different sims.

Gavin ~ Chapter 6

Well it's official, Loretta told me the doctor said she was pregnant. I was so happy and the first thing I wanted to so was tell my father. He would be so pleased with us and wouldn't have to worry anymore about the family legacy.

I got a phone call from Sara Swan inviting us to her party tonight. I knew my father would be there too and thought it would be the perfect time to tell him the good news. I really wanted to have a boy and I knew my father would be able to tell us what we were having. Loretta didn't care either way what gender the baby was, she was just happy to be starting our family.

Right before her maternity leave started she was promoted to a Minor Leaguer. She was a little worried about losing her good physic and decided to continue working out during the pregnancy. I didn't see any reason for her not to, after all that is what her body is used to. So before we got ready for the party she worked out for a bit while I started reading a book about babies.

My father was so excited when we showed up to the party and he saw that Loretta was wearing maternity clothes. We didn't even have to tell him, he just knew. He took no time in telling us that we were going to have a bouncing baby boy. I was floored because I was actually getting the son I wanted. My father laughed at me and said this is what is supposed to happen to the heir. They get everything they wish for and things they never knew they wanted.

Loretta has been filling her days at home with cleaning and working out. Those seem to be the two things that she is obsessed with during this pregnancy. She is terribly afraid that she is going to lose her body after she has the baby. I just keep giving her words of encouragement when she will let me.

I have been passing the time throwing myself in to my work. I have been working on a top secret assignment for the military and my hard work has gotten me another promotion to Mad Scientist. I can't go in to any further detail about my work but it has taken up a lot of my time. With the baby due to arrive any day now I have been given time off to be with my family.

Loretta and I have been making good use of our last few days alone together before the baby arrives. Knowing that we are in for many sleepless nights we spent pretty much the whole time in bed together.

The next morning I was woken up early to the moans of Loretta and her saying "it's time" over and over. I freaked for just a minute and then grabbed her bag for the hospital and off we went. When we arrived I asked for my father to be paged so that he could deliver his grandson and was given a grief stricken look by the nurse. She pulled me aside and told me that my father had been brought in last night with a cardiac arrest and he didn't make it. I was stunned in to silence until Loretta screamed that the baby was coming now.

After fifteen grueling hours of labor our baby boy arrived healthy as a horse. We named him Ethan and he is a heavy sleeper for sure. He has Loretta's hair and my eyes, although it is hard to his hair at the moment because there is so little of it. I wish my father was here to see him but I am just happy that he knew I did it.

After we got home and settled my mother called to see how we were doing. Loretta talked to her for a long time about my father's passing and my mother said that she was doing okay with it at the moment. I am just happy that she is not alone in the house and has my sisters there to support her.

Loretta immediately got in to the routine of feeding and loving on Ethan before we went to bed. It helped him sleep through most of the night so we weren't so exhausted in the morning. I didn't get to spend much time with him after the first two days  we had him home because of a call I received from work. Apparently there was some kind of malfunction with my assignment and they needed me back asap to try and resolve the issue. I guess the guy they but on it to cover during my leave wasn't very good at his job. So I loved on my baby and my wife before I headed out. Who knew how long it would take to resolve this mess.

My assignment ended up taking me away from my family for almost a year. I missed so much of my sons life it mad me a little sad. The only up side is that he wont really remember missing this time with me. I did get to talk with Loretta everyday and she kept me posted on what they were doing and how Ethan was growing. I am thankful that I will be here for birthday and everyday after that. No more out of town jobs for me, I can't stand to be away from my family for so long and after all I am able to get what I want right. Might as well use that to my advantage when it comes to my family.

*Here is some pics of what went on while I was away.

Sleepless nights

Play time with mommy

Mommies love and care

We decided to celebrate his birthday with just us there. He sure is growing in to such a handsome boy, part his mama and part me. A perfect mix between the two of us, what more could I ask for in a son.

*Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the update.

Gavin ~ Chapter 5

When Loretta got on the computer our home page was flashing with two stories about our family that got her upset. The first story was about how my Uncle Leon (Kandice's son) had started dating Loretta's mother Alexandria. If that wasn't weird enough, Kandice and Loretta's brother Sidney had gotten married.

Loretta was so upset to learn about her families business this way. Her brother didn't even tell her that he was dating anyone let alone getting married. My uncle Leon was close in age to us and now he had the potential to one day be her step-dad. This didn't bother me to much because they were both vampires and would be here way after we are gone. If being together makes them happy then who are we to say they shouldn't date. But I understand why my wife is so upset.

The second story was about my aunt Melody, her and Shayne had a baby together, a boy they named Tarik. The bad side is that soon after he was born they got divorced because Shayne was caught cheating with Victoria Fregno. Shayne and Victoria have gotten married and are now expecting a boy of their own they plan to name Derick.

Tarik and Derick....isn't that nice. Damn......doesn't Shayne know that anything he does will be blasted everywhere! I hope my aunt is doing okay with the news being all over the place. What a big slap in the face for her.

I didn't like seeing my wife so upset during our honeymoon so I told her to dress up because we were going out tonight. However, as soon as we walked in to the lounge we saw my uncle Leon sitting at the bar.

I sat by him to say hello and ordered Loretta a drink. She really didn't look happy to be there and it turned out to be a bad idea so once her drink was gone we headed home and went to sleep. This was not exactly how I envisioned spending the last part of our honeymoon.

The next morning I had a great plan to help Loretta cheer up. She is a cat lover and we have no animals so I figure a trip to the pet shop and the adoption of a cat would lift her spirits. So I told her to get dressed because I had a surprise for her. When we arrived at the pet store she was so excited that she rushed right in ahead of me.

We spent a lot of time in there and she seemed to glow the whole time. She finally made a choice on a Japanese Bobtail kitten named Patches, she was very cute. We had to wait a few days for them to get her ready to come home with us.

Loretta needed to work on her athletic skill some more for work so I decided to head to my parents house to see Willow. She has just gotten back from boarding school and I haven't seen her since she was a child. I didn't know what to expect when I saw her but I didn't really expect to see a full grown woman standing in front of me!

My sister was absolutely gorgeous! She very much looked and acted like someone that would have graduated from the school of Peace and Love. We chatted for hours about everything that has been going on and she shared much of her experience at the school with me. It was great to catch up but ended to soon because Loretta called to let me know that Patches has arrived already and she wanted me to come home and see her. So I said good-bye to my sister and headed home.

I found Loretta holding Patches and giving her lots of loving.

Today is my birthday and Loretta is taking me out to the Grind dance club. We had a great time drinking and dancing but I can't say we did that all night. Loretta got a call from her mother asking if she would come over so they could talk. She didn't want to go because it was my birthday but I told I didn't mind, I knew they needed to talk and work things out.

After Loretta left Elli walked in and zoned in on me. We danced for awhile and then went to her place to hangout. While I was there we watched the stars and chatted, it was nice to see her. While I was there I realized that I didn't have any romantic feelings for her anymore. When I got ready to leave she tried to give me some flowers and I had to tell her that I was not interested in her that way anymore. She really didn't like hearing that at all but I needed to say it so she would know and stop flirting with me every time she saw me.

When I got Loretta was waiting up for me so I told her what happened with Elli. She wasn't even mad she told me that she trusted me because if she didn't then she would never have agreed to marry me and then gave me a kiss.

I asked her about how the visit with her mother went. She said not that well, her mother and my uncle got married today. That is why she called her over because she didn't want her to hear about it from someone else. Loretta was upset because the whole thing was hidden from her but in the end decided it wasn't worth being mad about. She didn't want to waste anymore energy being mad about something that she had no control over.

We ended the last night of our honeymoon wrapped in each other's arms the way it's supposed to be.

The next day I completed my life time wish of becoming a Creature-Robot Cross Breeder. As soon as I walked out of work I called my dad. He was so excited for me and told me now I needed to get to work on giving him a grandchild. I swear that man is never happy with me.

Since Loretta had to work late I decided to do some work for my agent and went to the Lounge to promote a new drink they had. It didn't taste very well so I gave them my review of it and headed to the dance club instead. I always had way more fun at the Grind dancing, it was my favorite place to go for celebrations.

I decided that my father was right and it's time for us to have a baby. He is getting very old and wont live forever and I want him to know that he made the right choice in having me be the family heir. I talked to Loretta and told her I was ready and thankfully she is ready too. In fact she didn't want to wait another minute and we started trying right in the hot tub.

Patches had grown a lot since we got her, she no longer looks like a kitten. My favorite thing to do with her is to get her to chase my laser light. It is so funny to watch her run around in circle and try to climb the wall.

Since I have gotten married I basically live on salad. I love Loretta to death but man, that woman cannot cook. She is trying learn though and has taken a few classes but she still is not very good at it. She gets so frustrated when she burns the food and ends up giving me a salad to eat. I dutifully eat it and tell her what a great job she is doing. Today she made pancakes for breakfast and as usual was getting upset while cooking but today she actually gave me what she cooked. I have to say they were very good and I have no clue what she was getting upset about.

Loretta has been getting sick a lot and feeling really tired. We are hoping that this is a sign she is pregnant. She has an appointment to get checked out in a few days so soon we will know if we are having a baby. We are both really excited and can't wait to expand our family.

* I want to thank you for reading and apologize for it taking so long to get this chapter out. I have had a lot going on and no internet for the longest time but now I am back and plan to get more chapters out in the days that follow. Hope you all have a wonderful morning/day/evening.
