Chapter 9

Jace came home with some good news yesterday, he got promoted to Lyricist. He has almost completed his life's dream. I have almost finished mine as well, I have seven perfect plants. Only one more perfect plants to go, although I have about three more that are almost perfect.

The kids birthday party went off perfectly. All the invited guest showed up and everyone had a fabulous time. Jace carried Melody to the cake and helped her blow out the candles, then Merrick went second. They both aged up beautifully.

After all the guest left Melody wanted to tell a ghost story so I sat and watched her story. She did a great job, I got so spooked at the end that I jumped about ten feet in the air.

The first thing Merrick wanted to do was learn how to drive so he asked Jace and they left after all the guest did. He is a very fast learner because he came home with his driver license. He was jazzed because that meant he could drive to his friends house's now. He didn't want to drive to school so that Melody would have him with her on the bus. He is such a great kid that boy of mine.

After our busy weekend it was time for Melody's first day of school. The buss driver let me on the bus so I could take a picture of her. Merrick sat next to her and I got a great picture of him too.

I spent the day working in my garden while everyone was gone. It is such a nice way to relax and clear my head. I decided that I was tired of not having any romance with Jace anymore. The plan was when he got home I was going to just go up to him and kiss him. If nothing came about of it then I was going to ask for a divorce. I can't live like this, I am a passionate person and I need romance.

Well when Jace got home that night I put my plan in motion and boy did it work. We didn't exactly talk very much but we had lots of body language going on. After we finished our make up session we did finally talk. He thought I was still mad at him for all those night's he spent out and I thought well I don't know what I thought really. I am just happy that we talked and things are hopefully going to get back to normal.

Now that Melody is older I get to spend more time with her. I read her a bedtime story every night just like I did with Merrick. She is also always outside playing on the toys out there. She is very much a busy body and keeps herself entertained.

Merrick and I have also gotten a lot closer since he became a teenager. We talk and joke around all the time now. He even talks to me about....*gulp*......girls he likes. Well I should say girl. Her name is Susanna and he wants to ask her to prom but is afraid she will say no. I told him he still has time and if it would make it easier to ask a bunch of friends to all go together, his dad and I would pay for a limo for them all. He really liked that idea.

We had enrolled Melody into an after school ballet class and she had her recital tonight. She looked so cute in her little ballerina outfit. The years seem to just be flying by now. Merrick almost has the highest skill level you can have in logic. He play's chess all the time, he said it helps exercise his brain. You can always find him at our chess table morning noon and night.

I snapped this picture of him one morning before he got ready for school. He is such a ham!

Time for prom has come around already and Jace & I got a white stretch limo for all the kids. There was six of them that all went together, including Susanna.

Merrick had a great time at prom, he was voted Prom King and game home with his crown. He also got up the courage to ask Susanna out and she said yes. My little boy has his first girlfriend, I can't believe it.

Jace has a surprise for me today, he booked a vacation in Fiji. I was so excited that I jumped right into his arms. It was going to be just me and him, we were going to leave Merrick in charge. Merrick has been very responsible and we know that he can take good car of his sister while we are gone.

We were leaving in just two days so I sat and talked with Melody about us leaving and explained all the rules to her. She said she understood but didn't know why she couldn't come too. I guess it is hard at her age to understand that we needed sometime alone after all these years. She would understand someday though when she had a family of her own.

Merrick was a little worried about being home for three days without us but I know he can handle it. Plus we asked the neighbors to keep an eye on the house just in case.

Tomorrow we leave for Fiji, I am so excited!!! Beach and sun here I come, to drown my stress in the ocean with a cocktail pink and bubbling.

  2. The kids do look great and they seem to favor Jace. Sita and Jace seemed to have worked through whatever problem they were having. Hopefully, the kids stay out of trouble while the parents are away.
